MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE

Insurance based on usage and custom work

Customize Your Insurance

Motorcycle insurance can vary greatly based on what sort of motorcycle you have and what its purpose is. For example, a Harley that you use to drive across the country is very different than a dirtbike used by the family in the back woods. Motorcycle insurance will be customized to usage, custom work done on the bike, and add-ons such as travel interruption can even be added. Talk with the team at Customized Insurance Brokers about your biking habits to see how we can help.

  • What does auto insurance cover?
Your car insurance coverage depends on the type of policy you purchase. Different types of car insurance include: Bodily injury (BI) and property damage (PD) liability coverage for damaged caused to other people or property. Personal injury protection (PIP) to cover medical expenses and other damages. Collision and comprehensive coverage for damage done to your vehicle in collisions, and in non-collisions (i.e., fire, vandalism, or theft). Uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage protects in the event of an accident where the at-fault driver doesn’t have insurance.
  • Is auto insurance mandatory?
Georgia consumers must have automobile liability insurance for at least the minimum limits required by law to drive on the Georgia public roads and highways. The minimum limits of liability required under Georgia law are Bodily injury Liability of $25,000 per person, $50,000 per occurrence and Property Damage liability of $25,000 per occurrence. Liability insurance is insurance that pays damages to others, on behalf of an insured, for injury to or damaged property of others, up to the policy limit, which an insured may have caused by his negligence or may protect him against claims made against him by someone who alleges he was at-fault.
  • What determines my auto insurance rates?
Car insurance rates depend on a number of factors. These include: Personal details like age, sex, and marital status Where you live Average annual distance driven Your vehicle Your credit Your coverage amount and type
  • How does my zip code impact my Auto Insurance?
Your "garaged address" is very important in deciding your auto insurance premiums. Living in the city of Atlanta will yield higher insurance premiums than a suburb of Atlanta due to the congestions and the increased liklihood of accidents occuring based on the congestion. This is also the reason why moving from one place to another and updating your address can yield to a difference in your insurance premiums.
  • What does collision coverage cover?
Collision coverage covers the cost to repair or assist in replacing your vehicle if it is damaged in an accident with another vehicle or object, such as a mailbox, house, fence, tree, etc. Most standard auto insurance policies cover the damage at actual cash value which means that the payout will be the value of the vehicle at the time of the loss. For brand new vehicles, many carriers have endorsements that will replace the vehicle completely or repair it with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). There are also stated value policies for collector vehicles that would pay the amount stated on the policy.
  • What is Gap insurance?
Gap insurance fills the gap between what your insurance company pays and for accident or theft, and what you owe on an existing car loan. Car insurance pays out depending on your car’s current value. Because many cars lose value quickly, you may find yourself in a situation where you owe more on a loan than what the car is actually worth — for instance, you buy a $30,000 car and in one year it is valued at $22,000, but you still have $25,000 left on your own. Gap insurance covers that $3,000 difference.
  • What is an SR-22?
A SR-22 is often considered insurance, but it technically isn’t. It’s simply a certificate from your insurer showing that you have insurance coverage. An SR-22 may be ordered by a judge if you have a less-than-perfect driving record, like getting dinged for multiple moving violations or a DUI. We have carriers that offer a SR-22 if you need one. Contact us today!
  • I participate in ridesharing like, Uber, Lyft, Grub Hub, etc. Are there coverages available for me?"
Absolutely! We have several carriers that offer this added on coverage to protect you during the period of time that your traditional coverage would not cover. Rideshare trips are divided into “periods.” Period 1 is when the driver has the rideshare app open but hasn’t matched with a passenger; Period 2 is when the driver and passenger are matched but the passenger hasn’t been picked up; and Period 3 is when the passenger is in the car. Rideshare companies provide coverage throughout, but especially during Period 1 this coverage can be limited. Give us a call today so we can pair you with a carrier and make sure you are adequately covered.
